Life science, also known as biology, as a discipline classifies living organisms and examines how they function, and how they interact with their environment.
Its three broad areas include the study of plants, the study of animals, and the study of microorganisms. Students use the scientific method and are engaged in lab activities using the microscope and animal dissections. The New York State Intermediate Level Science Test is administered at the end of the year.
Students must come prepared to class with their notebook, textbook, school planner, and assignment.
